Creative felting & textile workshops in Scotland

We run a variety of course throughout the year however, if you do not see the course you want, or if you can’t make one of the dates on offer why not invite a group of friends and organise your own playday.

Felting Workshop Dates for 2012

 

March 10th | Felting Feast | Come and make whatever takes your fancy (within reason!) and revel in our glorious mass of colour and texture.

March 24th | Beautiful Bags | An old favourite workshop, come and learn a basic 3D felting technique and make a lovely handbag, clutch bag or even a sporran.

April 7th | Hat Felting | Design and make your very own fabulous felted hat using luxurious merino and silk for that extra edge of gleam and softness.

April 21st | Free Form Crochet | Creating wild and wonderful free-form textured shapes from our wide range of interesting yarns, to use as a centre for a cushion, decoration for a bag, on a hat or even as a piece of textile art.

May 5th | Dyeing Texture | Dyeing a range of different silk and wool fibre textures then experimenting with felting the textures you have dyed.

May 19th | Mini Books | Learn to make a range of folded and stitched book forms on a tiny scale. These can be used as tiny journals, handbag sized photo albums, or even as a special card.

June 2nd Fabulous Felted Flowers | Learn to make your own glorious flower corsages that can be worn on your coat, jumper, hat or handbag. They can also be given a stem and used as decoration in the home.

June 16th | Weaving Wishes, Memories and Dreams | Weaving on a piece of driftwood that becomes both the loom and a part of the weaving. Hard to describe but a very lovely process with beautiful results.

June 30th | Gnomes | Making small friendly gnomes from felt and other things.

July 14th | Felting Journal Covers | Making yourself a felted cover using inserts, textured special fibres and nuno felting to create a truly unique and beautiful re-usable journal cover. Further info to follow soon!

July 28th | Sculptural Felt | Vessels, vases and pots – learn to create three dimensional shapes in felt.

August 11th Wild 3D Felting | Come and experiment with forms inspired by seed pods, microscopic life forms and your own imagination!

August 25th | Felting Feast | Come and make whatever takes your fancy (within reason!) and revel in our glorious mass of colour and texture.

September 8th | Felting Landscapes | Come and learn to ‘paint’ beautiful landscapes with merino and silk.

September 22nd | Felted Flower Wall Hanging | Create a large botanical study in felt.

October 6th | Freeform Scarves | Learn to make a sculptural pre-felt scarf in funky shapes and glorious colours.

October 20thFabulous Felted Flowers | Learn to make your own glorious flower corsages that can be worn on your coat, jumper, hat or handbag. They can also be given a stem and used as decoration in the home.

November 3rd |Felted Flower Lights | Felt a fabulous festoon of flowers and attach them to a string of fairy lights.

November 17th |Christmas to Keep |Come and make heirloom Christmas decorations.

December 1st |Felting Feast | Come and make whatever takes your fancy (within reason!) and revel in our glorious mass of colour and texture.
